After a summer of fun, it can be difficult to face the challenge of school uniform shopping. An often stressful activity for kids and parents alike, it’s tempting to leave the trip until the last minute.
Even so, it’s best to be proactive when it comes to stocking up on gear for the new school term. Not only will this let you relax and enjoy the rest of your holidays, but there will be no panic the night before school starts. A win-win!
So, to help you and your child get ready for back to school with minimum fuss, we’ve created an easy to follow checklist, including school shoes, school trousers and more.
School Shirts
Whatever the dress code for your child’s school, school shirts are sure to be an essential item. Helping your child stay smart and presentable, it’s worth stocking up on three to four well-fitting shirts or blouses to see them through the week.
Alongside their day-to-day uniform, it’s a good idea to have a few extra shirts stored away. You never know when a surprise spillage in art class might happen! Having additional items will also reduce your washing schedule (result!), making it a cost-effective and eco-friendly tactic.
School Skirts & School Trousers
Unfortunately, there’s no way of hiding short school skirts and school trousers. Plus, since your child has most likely shot up over the summer holidays, you’re probably going to need to invest in new versions of both.
To ensure that they always look their best for a day filled with fun and learning, we advise pairing up on skirts and trousers.
You can also make the most out of their uniform by buying clothes one size too big. This way, your child will have room to grow into them throughout the term.
School Shoes
Comfortable and supportive school shoes are a key part of every uniform. Getting them ready for playground games like ‘stuck in the mud’ and ‘tag’, a good-quality pair of shoes will also help make their daily commute that bit easier.
From black trainers and brogues to our wide fit shoe options, we have sizes and styles your kids (and their schools!) will love.
PE Kit
While PE kit requirements vary from school to school, there are a few essential items that every child will need.
As well as comfy sports shorts and T-shirts, you should also make sure your kid has a reusable water bottle at the ready. Plus, school-appropriate swimsuits and swim shorts are great for letting them dive straight into swimming lessons.
Sixth Form
It’s not just your little ones that have to get ready for back to school! Teenagers also need to refresh their wardrobe for sixth form and college.
From blazers and shirts to A-line skirts and tailored trousers, we have plenty of durable designs to kit them out for the new school term.
