How To Plan The Perfect Picnic

When it comes to planning the perfect picnic, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your group number, how far you’re travelling and (of course) the weather, what you need for each trip will vary from time to time. Even so, there are a few golden rules to follow to make your event a success, including picking a shady spot as well as picnicware and rugs. While eating outside requires a little planning, it’s a great way to enjoy a fun-filled day with your family. So grab your basket and pack your blanket because we’re going on a picnic!

FIND A
SHADY SPOT

There’s nothing better than heading out into the sunshine to enjoy a picnic. However, too much midday sun isn’t great for your skin, even when wearing protection. To make sure everyone stays cool, there are a few tips and tricks you can follow. As well as selecting a shady spot to eat, make sure your little one’s clothes offer the right amount of coverage. Light long-sleeved tops are a fantastic pick alongside hats and cropped trousers. Practical and breathable, these items will let them play picnic sports and games all day long.

To BBQ Or
Not To BBQ?

The fantastic thing about picnics is that they can be as simple or as special as you like. While sandwiches, scotch eggs, crisps and fruit are all part of a classic picnic spread, that doesn’t mean you can’t mix up the meal plan for birthdays. If you’re throwing a party-style picnic, why not take along a BBQ? Just the thing to bring friends and family together, a BBQ will quickly transform the day into an event to remember. But whatever food you choose, make sure you remember to bring reusable tableware. Much more environmentally friendly than paper versions, our patterned plates and cups will ensure fuss-free eating when you’re out and about.

RELAX WITH
GARDEN FURNITURE

When it comes to having a picnic on short notice, those with gardens are in luck. All it takes is a few accessories to prep your space for seasonal fun. Stylish garden furniture is brilliant for creating an area for eating and socialising, while picnic rugs and blankets can be used as seating for little ones. Just hang up some outdoor lighting to let the laughter continue well into the night!

LOOK THE PART

Most picnics have casual dress codes, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t debut your favourite seasonal looks. From dreamy day dresses to summery skirts and shorts, an event with your nearest and dearest is the ideal time to dress to impress. For a fashionable and flattering look that will also let you join in the garden games, why not try a jumpsuit? Paired with white trainers or pumps, it’s just the pretty picnic outfit to bring out for warmer weather.
