It’s one of the best times of the year– half-term – yippee! An entire week off to take a break from schoolwork, catch up on fave TV shows and spend plenty of time playing!
As kids and grown-ups look forward to a well-deserved break, you might be searching for some inspo on how to spend this May half term. The good news is – we’ve come up with lots of entertaining ideas for you!
From exciting outdoor toys and games to adventurous days out, your half-term is sure to be bursting with fun!
How Do You Make Half-Term Fun?
The greatest way to make sure your half-term is filled with fun is by choosing activities you and your little ones enjoy. Keep budding explorers smiling by spending time outdoors and inspire aspiring artists with creative arts and crafts.
It’s also a good idea to schedule your plans in advance, map out your week, and allow some downtime. As always, it’s super important to check the weather forecast!
Plan A Family Day Out
Going on a family day out is a fab way to keep the kids (and grown-ups) in good spirits during the half-term holidays. Start by picking your destination, whether that be a new city, the seaside or a local attraction and make a handy checklist before the big day.
On your checklist, include an itinerary and any important documents you will need to pack. If you’re travelling with a mini explorer, grab all the essential baby travel accessories for a fuss-free day out.
Create An Outdoor Obstacle Course
There’s no need to venture too far to keep the kids entertained this half-term – just head to the back garden! Revamp your outdoor space and encourage some friendly competition by decking it out with swings, slides, and tables games – yep, we’re going BIG!
Tackle your obstacle course by starting off with a few jumping jacks, followed by a bounce on the trampoline, a whizz down the slide, and lastly, shooting some goals in the net!
The whole gang can get involved in the fun and be sure to award the winner with a prize!
Set Off For A Hike
Nothing says adventure quite like an outdoor hike! Grab your hiking books, pick a child-friendly trail, and you’re good to go!
Keep your energy levels up by filling your picnic bag with healthy snacks, picnicware, plenty of water bottles and maybe a treat (or two!).
During your hiking trip, encourage your little explorers to absorb their surroundings and quiz them on nature and wildlife they spot.
Extend the activities into the evening with older children and have a campout! Check out our latest collection of camping equipment to get you well-prepared.

Make A Splash
Bring the beach vibes home with an at-home waterpark. Inflate the paddling pool, fill it up, grab some fun water toys, and make a splash!
Kids can avoid shark-infested waters, hunt for treasure at the bottom of the ocean and cool off after soaking up the sun. Grown-ups, we’ve not forgotten about you – our hot-tubs are perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.
Have A Bake-Off

Adult supervision is essential, and opting for no-bake recipes, baking kits or decorating pre-made goodies are fab ways to minimise mess and involve even the most junior bakers.
